Welcome to Hissom Tabernacle, where we gather to work for the glory of God. Hissom Tabernacle has been on the corner of Pennsylvania and Spring Street for almost 100 years. We don't just worship at Hissom, we share God's love and compassion with our community as a mission church. Hissom Tabernacle welcomes everyone who comes to our doors, for any of our services. Hissom is a place where you can grow in faith through worship, study and service. Join us any Sunday or Wednesday and you will develop a personal relationship with Jesus and see faith in action.
Your first time at Hissom, you will find that we are a simple church. Just come in the front door and walk through our entry to the double doors, where you should find a bulletin for worship service on the table to the right. Members will greet you with "Welcome", "Hello" and "We're so glad you're here." If you come a bit early or stay after service, the pastor will welcome you personally. You might have a welcome called out from the pulpit. Find a seat anywhere and find a bible and Nazarene hymnal in the traditional pews. Our lay minister will lead the service until time for the sermon, and sometimes we don't go in order of the bulletin. We worships as God guides. Your first time will likely not be your last!
Your children are welcome at Hissom in all services. We are looking for parents and families to grow our youth program. Naz Kids offers support and Hissom will offer you space to plant your children and allow them to become rooted in Christ, a solid foundation for future success!
Our entire church is one small group. We have an Outreach Ministry that is always accepting volunteers and of course we need a "builder" for our Kids Ministry team leadership. Our evening bible studies are usually combined with neighbor outreach . We can find a spot for nearly any spiritual service you are passionate about. Contact our Pastor, Hissom is always open to new ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Hissom Tabernacle is a place where you can find a family in Christ, that shares your joy and your sorrows as you mature in faith. Hissom has been committed to a culture of love and generosity in the name of Jesus Christ since 1934. We have learned to have some fun along with fellowship.
Join us for another installment of this amazing series from Pastor John! You can catch up here, watch live online, or join us in person for a Sunday morning service!
I spent many years apart from the Lord, chasing worldly affection. A co-worker brought me back to prayer, and grief sent me to my knees, calling out to God. Of course, he answered! It still took many years to find my spiritual home, so when I walked into Hissom Tabernacle for worship service in 2023 and felt the Holy Spirit moving in me, I knew I was finally home!
I rededicated my life to Christ in 2024. I’ve been going to Hissom for two years. I am a greeter and attendance coordinator. I love this church, because of the people and our great Pastor. I love to serve God in our outreach programs because I love helping others and serving God.
